Our Roots: MGCGV and IPST

Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) is a pioneering institution, established by an Act of the State Legislature in 1991. Its unique mandate focuses on rural development, social engineering, and community empowerment. MGCGV has demonstrated its success through robust enrolment, with over 5,000 students currently benefiting from its programs across various disciplines focused on grassroots change.

Central to MGCGV's vision is the Institute of People Science and Technology (IPST), now the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (F.E.T), which began its journey in 1997. F.E.T’s mission is to blend technological expertise with a deep understanding of rural life. Over the decades, it has trained thousands of engineers and technologists, focusing on sustainable and socially conscious innovation, thereby significantly contributing to the development of the region.

Every great institution thrives on the strength of its community, and the Indradhanush Chitrakoot Student Society (ICSS) has been established to be that transformative force for IPSTians. Born from a collective vision shared by students, juniors, seniors, and colleagues alike, ICSS represents more than just an organisation—it embodies our commitment to mutual support and collective growth.

As a registered legal entity, ICSS operates with complete transparency and accountability to its members. We recognised a crucial gap: the need for an officially recognised platform that could genuinely serve our community's diverse needs. This realisation sparked the creation of ICSS, an organisation dedicated to providing need-based monetary aid whilst fostering a robust societal framework.
